The three Deputy Governors from Ukambani region,Dr Wathe Nzau-Kitui, Eng. Maliti-Machakos and Adelina Mwau-Makueni, are fully behind their Governors in support of the South Eastern Kenya Economic Block ( SEKEB) which is the only unity to help Kamba community from poverty.
This was revealed by Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau at Kalukuni village in Kithimani Ward, Machakos County, during the sent off ceremony for the late Lazarus Maliti young brother to Machakos Deputy Governor Eng. Francis Maliti, on Saturday.
Dr Wathe Nzau lauded the three County bosses, for choosing a direction away from the status quo, geared by an urge to provide services and development to mwananchi noting that one can not do things always in the same way and expect different results.
“As Ukambani Deputy Governors, we fully support the Poverty Eradication Movement (PEM), formed by your Governor Dr Alfred Mutua, Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana and my Kitui Governor H.E Charity Kaluki Ngilu, because this is the only way to better lives of our people and accelerate intentions of South Eastern Economic Bloc (SEKEB) and this unity should be respected because it has nothing to do with regional politics,” said Dr Wathe.
The bloc will largely concentrate on development of key infrastructure, promote Agriculture, provide a conducive environment to both local and international investors, promote our own Industries like the Kitui County Textile Center (KICOTEC) whose raw materials can be manufactured in the region, jointly exploit common Natural resources and come up with a framework on how people will directly benefit.
