Sensitization forum on Access to information kicks off in Kitui town, Kitui county

The sensitization forum on Access to Information organized by the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) kicked off today in Kitui town -an exercise that will take place in several counties across the country.

The exercise is established under Article 59(4) of the Constitution that requires all public entities to disclose certain information to the public which is crucial for the promotion of democracy and good governance.

Kitui Deputy Dr. Wathe Nzau representing Governor Charity Ngilu at the meeting lauded the Commission for choosing to set the pace for the training in the county saying knowledge among officers was key in service delivery.

The Commission was led by the Chairperson Hon Florence Kajuju accompanied by the Commissioner in charge of access to information Lucy Ndungu. Hon Kajuju congratulated Governor Charity Ngilu’s Government for allowing the commission to hold the first training in the county.

In attendance were the Ag. County Secretary Alex Kimanzi, C.O for Water Kioko Kiilu, C.O for Tourism, Sports and Culture Zakayo Kimanzi, C.O in charge of Environment and Natural Resources Eng. Joseph Kimanga, Governor Advisors, Directors, Assistant Directors, and Sub County Administrators and took place at Kitui Agricultural Traning Center (ATC) today.
