Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has insisted that he is in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp to stay.
Khalwale has vowed to block Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga in western Kenya and make sure that in 2022 presidential election, Raila will get zero votes from the vote-rich Luhya community.
He added that he will single-handedly campaign for Ruto in the region and make sure that the DP gets 100 percent of the Luhya community votes.
Mr. Khalwale said he is supporting DP Ruto because he believes he (Ruto) is the only man who can bring change in Kenya.
The ex-senator showered Ruto with praises while addressing residents in Kakamega and told them to avoid Raila like a plague.
In the 2017 general election, Khalwale was in Raila Odinga’s camp and was the biggest critic of DP Ruto in western Kenya.
Khalwale in many occasions termed Ruto as the most corrupt individual in Kenya who stole Kenyans’ money to enrich himself.
He once asked the DP to explain to Kenyans where he got money to buy three choppers worthy millions yet his salary won’t enable him to buy such expensive choppers.
Things changed when Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta came together through the popular ‘handshake’ and chose to work together to unite the country.
Khalwale termed Raila as a betrayer who betrayed his fellow National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula.
How he ended up in Ruto’s camp remains a mystery!
