Miguna Miguna supports Ruto’s decision to condole with Jonathan Moi’s family in Eldama Ravine

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has seconded deputy President William Ruto’s move to condole with the family of the son of former president Daniel Moi,Jonathan Moi in Kabimoi, Eldama Ravine, Baringo county.

Miguna argued that Jonathan Moi was a grown-up and he had his own home in Eldama Ravine so there was no need for anyone to mourn him in Kabarak at the home of his father, Daniel Moi.

Taking to Facebook, Miguna Miguna wrote “the Nation Media Group is leading in the distortion of news and the manipulation of public opinion, like all the other cartel media. Jonathan Moi, the violent murderer, was over 60 years’ old and had his own home in Eldama Ravine. Why should anyone mourn him at Kabarak? Was he a baby? Why should Ruto have gone to Kabarak to see Daniel Toroitich Moi when Jonathan Moi’s immediate family are in Eldama Ravine?

A compromised media is an enemy of freedom.

Kenya has no independent professional media. Instead of providing the public with unvarnished facts, credible evidence and critical opinions, the Nation Media Group, The Standard, Mediamax and Royal Media serve despots.”

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday visited the home of the late Jonathan Toroitich Moi to condole with his family.

He went to Kabimoi in Eldama Ravine accompanied by leaders including Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis and MPs Moses Lesonnet (Eldama Ravine) and Caleb Kositany (Soy).

Dr Ruto, who arrived at around 3.40pm, was received by Jonathan’s widow Sylvia Toroitich.

He had a private meeting with the family.
