Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli on Tuesday claimed that he is the third most popular and powerful individual in Kenya after President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (OM) Party leader Raila Odinga.
Atwoli said COTU guides Kenyans in many aspects and that’s why he is a very popular and powerful individual.
The COTU boss claimed he is more popular than DP Ruto positively.
He argued that a person can be popular but negatively.
”That is why I tell Kenyans, positively, after President Uhuru Kenyatta, is Raila Amollo Odinga then Francis Atwoli and nobody else. If you see anybody else he is a ‘donkey’. Because you can be popular but popular negatively maybe because you are a thief, a land grabber or a corrupt individual,” said Atwoli.
Speaking on NTV’s Sidebar Show hosted by Ken Mijungu, Atwoli maintained that DP Ruto will not be in the next government.
Asked whether he would vie for presidency, he said he can do so as any other Kenyan but currently he is not interested in vying for presidency.
