Deputy President William Ruto today attended three separate events at the coast.
Ruto started his schedule in Taita Taveta county where he attended the funeral of Mzee Barnaba Mizighi, father of Taita Taveta Women Representative Lydia Haika at Ngutini, Taveta, Taita Taveta County.
During the funeral, the DP mourned Mzee Barbaba as a man “who was a loving, responsible parent and a respected village elder. He was soft-spoken, yet firm; his words carried weight and wisdom. Mzee Barnaba’s generosity and kindness set him apart. We celebrate a life well lived.”
After the funeral, Ruto took off to Kilifi county where he presided over the dedication of the Giriama Bible at Karisa Maitha Grounds.
While at the event, Dr. Ruto the translation of the Bible into different languages allow communities to easily interact and better understand the Scriptures. He added that it promotes evangelism, enhances relationship with God and deepens social cohesion.
The DP ended his day in Malindi where he opened the Malindi Sub-County Education Office.
At the event, the DP said “education is a critical lever of development and fosters equality in society. That is why we are investing in the education sector to promote a conducive learning climate; ensure every child attends school and boost transition rates to secondary and tertiary levels.”
He was hosted by Malindi member of parliament Aisha Jumwa.
