Former immediate Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa today handed over the Ministry of Sports,Culture and heritage to the incoming Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.
While handing over,he had this to say”
“This morning at the official handover ceremony of the Ministry of Sports,Culture and Heritage to the incoming Cabinet Secretary Amb.Amina Mohamed.Let me once again Thank H.E The President and H.E The Deputy President for considering me amongst 50 million Kenyans to serve my country in the capacity of a Cabinet Secretary.I wish Amb Amina the best in her new role. “
Mr Echesa was fired on Friday March 1,2019 by president Uhuru Kenyatta and replaced with Amina Mohamed who was then Education Cabinet Secretary.
The Education Ministry was given to former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor and Kenya National Examinations Council Chairman George Magoha.
After being transferred to Sports docket,Amina Mohamed had this to say;
“It is with humility and high honour that I thank His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta for according me the opportunity to serve as the CS for Foreign Affairs, the CS for Education and now as CS for Sports, Culture and Heritage. I congratulate my colleague in the Education sector Prof. George Magoha on his nomination to the Ministry of Education. I thank all the sector players and development partners for their tremendous support throughout my headship at MOE. Together, we made huge strides in deepening the sector’s reform Agenda. We delivered credible 2018 national examinations, successful CBC roll-out, near 100% transition from primary to secondary (93% and rising) progressive TVET and University reforms, among others.”
